Hands 2 Help Comfort Quilt Challenge 2022

My sewjo has been sadly missing this year, but there is no way that I am going to miss the annual Hands 2 Help Comfort Challenge.

So glad that I could use up my stash to finish 5 quilts that are on their way to Mercyful Quilts and Quilty Hugs.

This year I used the Cross Roads pattern for the quilts.

2 quilts were completed using red, white, and blue scraps and the rest were made using brights and pastels.

Big thanks to Mari at The Academic Quilter for organizing this year's event.

Please check out the other fun quilts completed for this year's H2H Challenge.

Hands 2 Help Comfort Quilt Challenge 2021

It is time to wrap up this year's Hands2Help Comfort Quilt Challenge.

My goal this year was to really clean up my stash and focus on the scraps.

Many scrappy stars were made.

No pattern needed.  I started by using scraps to make the center blocks and then added the star points.

Also, there will always be some scrappy house quilts.  This is my go-to scrap pattern to use where anything goes.

Please check out everyone's fun quilts in this year's challenge.

I cant wait for next year!

Hands 2 Help Challenge 2020 Final

The Hands 2 Help Challenge is one of my favorite times of the quilting year.  I work throughout the year to make sure there are plenty of quilts for the challenge.

This year I tried to very my quilt patterns.

I will always make a scrappy house quilt.  This is my go-to scrap pattern and I always have a stack of these blocks on hand.

I guess I did not take many pics of the completed quilts, but I have a few.

Just one more trip to the post office and this year's challenge will be complete.

Final tally this year = 15 quilts

3 - Mercyful Quilts
2 - Quilty Hugs
4 - Quilts of Compassion
4 - Little Lambs Foundation
2 - Covered In Love

Please check out more of this years quilts at H2H 2020

2019 Hands 2 Help Comfort Quilts Final

Its time to show off our finishes for this year's Hands 2 Help challenge.

🔺 Scrappy Quilts

Happy Scrappy Houses is my go-to pattern for making all kinds of colors and patterns work well together.  This large quilt was sent to the Carolina Hurricane Quilt Project.

A smaller house quilt is making its way to Mercyful Quilts.

Also sent to Mercyful Quilts was a scrappy Ohio Star.

This was made from many donated fabrics received at Christmas.  It looks difficult, but I used my Go Baby to tame up all those scraps.

This scrappy star quilt was sent to Happy Chemo.

I challenged myself to use up my Star Wars scraps.

This quilt will be making its way to Happy Chemo, along with a beach themed quilt.

This cowboy baby quilt went to Jack's Basket.

Can't wait for next year's challenge!

Bloggers Fall Festival - 2018

It's time for the fall Bloggers Quilt Festival and I thought I would share one of my favorite quilts - the Georgia tulips quilt.

Since I give most of my quilts away, I thought that I needed something of my own and was inspired by the cover quilt on the book "Georgia Quilts".

I really had no idea how to recreate that quilt, so I kinda made up the process as I went along.

I used every scrap in my scrap box, and did not edit anything.  If it was in the box, it got used and in no particular order.

The string pieced tulips are hand sewn together and then hand sewn to the background.  It was then hand quilted in a free-form manner.

I love seeing this bright, cheerful quilt hanging on my wall everyday!  I have even been thinking about making a larger quilt for my bed.

Please check out some of the other quilts shared in the Bloggers Quilt Festival.

2018 Hands 2 Help Final

Confessions Of A Fabric Addict

This year's challenge is now ending and it's time for the final link up.

I thought I may have time to work on another quilt, but the final count for this year's challenge is 8 small, scrappy house quilts that are off to the Little Lambs Foundation for Kids.  I work on building house blocks throughout the year, that way I have enough blocks to build quilts during the Hands 2 Help season.

The happy, scrappy house pattern is my go to for charity quilts.  I really like how well all the scraps work together.

I realized after I mailed the quilts that I didn't get a good photo of the completed quilt, so this photo is from last year's challenge.

Please check out all the other Hands 2 Help quilts and I hope that you join us for next year's challenge.

2018 Hands 2 Help Status Update

I have been thinking lately that maybe I should be more careful for what I wish for.

Last Christmas, I wished for scraps - and wow, did I get scraps.  I got so many scraps, that I started working on my 2018 Hands 2 Help (H2H) quilts using my favorite pattern Happy, Scrappy Houses.  I lost count of how many times I have made quilts using this pattern.

With the challenge coming to a close, this year I believe that I will have completed 8 (yes, 8!) small house quilts and 2 quilt tops.

It was very hot and sunny outside today, but I did get a quick photo of a few of the quilts.

I hope everyone is meeting their goals for this challenge and I can't wait to see the final quilts.
